Barns of Indiana ~ Part 2

The barns started fascinating us as much as the bridges.

This barn depicted the bridge that was a quarter mile down the road.

I always thought after watching my Dad and his helper friends put hay in the loft, that having a barn where you could drive into the upper level would be wonderful.  My Grandfather had such a barn.  Of course it wasn't metal like this one.

Check out Barns of Indiana Part 1.

  1. You found some wonderful barns. Even a pink one, but I don't know about the pink. :0) I always like the ones where you can drive right in to the upper level.

  2. I had no idea Indiana had such cool stuff! The barns are fantastic! Never in my life have I seen a pink one. And the one with the elk on the end is one of my favorites! Great photos, Joy!

  5. Fantastic series of barns! The faded red/pink barn is quite unusual! LoL! Love the shape of the brown one w/ the elk silhouette on the side & that 1st one is awesome w/ the bridge mural & the side w/ the Bible verse & Eagle! Very creative & thoughtful!

Thanks for sharing these beauties w/ us on Barn Charm =)

  6. You found some fascinating barns in Indiana! I am really impressed with the first one with its elaborate mural. That must have taken a bit of time to do!

  7. Boy I was meant to join your site today. My sister is Mary (the M in the circle favicon) just before me. She invited me but didn't go to your site right then, (had to read some other emails right then) and then went to my Rural Thursday choices, got you from there and here we are. I also invited Jacqueline and Vivienne from each of their sites. I think they would enjoy your site, too. Join me? I'd love it!!!

    1. It's been a while now since that trip. All I remember, it was the last day of our Covered Bridge expedition. It was the first part of the day as we left Kokomo, IN and traveled eastward for a while and then south, I think, HWY 19 which (using google maps) doesn't look like a major highway like I remember. We continued to travel east of Indianapolis southward. It was not in the same part of the state as the "Elk" barn.
